It is the policy of the Owners and Administrator of this web site to respect the privacy of users but to also provide users with the data and services they need. Logging-in creates additional records about User and the data accessed. Users who access bid documents and do not opt-out of record keeping may be displayed on a plan-holders (bidders) list accessible to registered Users and buyers.
Confidential & Sensitive Information Uploaded by User
Future features will give Users the option to enter or upload confidential company data such as contractors license, insurance information, DUNS & FIN numbers, financial information, work experience, references, etc.. In some cases confidential personal information may also be uploaded at Users option. This information will be used for contractor/vendor pre-qualification, security clearances and other purposes.
How the Information is Used
Information is stored in server logs and in a database. Basic User information is made available to other Users in business directories and plan-holders lists. Users can expect their name, company name, address, TEL and company description to be made publicly available. Basic company information submitted by Users is made available to govt. agencies and other buyers who have posted solicitations and need to know who bidders are or who are looking for potential bidders. Confidential information submitted by User is made available to specific buyers upon Users approval. Confidential & sensitive information shall not be made publicly available through this site but if provided to a govt. agency that agency may choose to make the information publicly available.
All available information about a User may be used as needed if the User has violated this Site's Terms of Service.
How the Information is Not Used
User information is not used to 'profile' Users beyond what is needed to provide services offered or future services. User information is not sold to marketers or advertisers. We do not publicly display User's email address or fax number. In some cases, User's email address and fax number may be accessible to other Users who are logged-in.
Information about active Users is retained indefinitely. Information about inactive Users is retained for a minimum of one year. User may request their data purged, unless User is suspected of violating the Terms of Service of this site.
Credit Card Purchases
Credit Card transactions are conducted using encrypted secure forms to prevent theft of the transmitted information. All credit card information maintained is kept strictly confidential. The Administrator of this site goes to considerable lengths to ensure the security of customer credit card data. All credit card users are encouraged to closely monitor the activity on their card, closely safeguard their credit information and to use a secure computer operating system such as Linux.
The US Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991, 47 U.S.C. § 227, makes it a violation of federal law for a person to use any telephone facsimile machine, computer, or other device to send an unsolicited advertisement (a "junk fax") to a telephone facsimile machine. Various State laws make it illegal to send broad categories of faxes without the permission of the recipient. To be subject to the Federal Act, a fax must be an "unsolicited ad". An "unsolicited advertisement" is any material advertising the commercial availability or quality of any property, goods, or services that is transmitted to any person without that person's prior express invitation or permission.
Not every fax is a junk fax and the Owners and Administrator of this site do not not Spam or send 'Junk' faxes. The Administrator of this site maintains a list of fax numbers whose owners have requested to not receive faxes and does not broadcast fax to those numbers. The Administrator of this site does communicate with Users through Fax, telephone & email on a regular basis. Submission of your fax number to the Administrator of this site constitutes an agreement to receive an occasional fax transmission. You may opt-out of our fax system by calling us sending us a fax, email or letter by postal mail.
The Administrator of this site obtains email addresses from customers, from public bid lists and other sources. The Administrator of this site sends emails to a wide variety of organizations and individuals during the course of business but does not spam. Submission of your email address to the Administrator of this site constitutes an agreement to receive an occasional email. You may opt-out of future emails by calling us or sending us a fax, email or letter by postal mail.
Spammers and computer hackers are very adept at breaking into email servers and also at 'spoofing' email addresses. If you receive an unwanted email from the Administrator of this site's email address it does not mean that the email was sent by the Administrator of this site. It is possible that someone used a fraudulent email address as their return address. If you receive any spam, viruses or malware from an email you think came from the Administrator of this site please check the email header details to see where the Email actually originated from. If there is any indication that the spam originated from the Administrator of this site please let us know.
